"As they passed the rows of houses they saw through the open doors that men were sweeping and dusting and washing dishes, while the women sat around in groups, gossiping and laughing. "What has happened?" the Scarecrow asked a sad-looking man with a bushy beard, who wore an apron and was wheeling a baby-carriage along the sidewalk. "Why, we've had a revolution, your Majesty -- as you ought to know very well," replied the man; "and since you went away the women have been running things to suit themselves. I'm glad you have decided to come back and restore order, for doing housework and minding the children is wearing out the strength of every man in the Emerald City." "Hm!" said the Scarecrow, thoughtfully. "If it is such hard work as you say, how did the women manage it so easily?" "I really do not know," replied the man, with a deep sigh. "Perhaps the women are made of cast-iron.""

A Picture Of A Monkey

No, not the dude in the hat (that's me). I mean the adorable little Cappuchin monkey perched on my shoulder eating a nacho. Her name is Abbey and I think I'm in love.

Cute picture! And, yes, I always wanted a monkey. So, we got a Bolivian squirrel monkey. He was very cool.

"Was"?

10. B - 01/23/2006 7:42 am CST

Yes, was. We got him when he was a baby and very loving. But when he was around five years old, he started to get mean (he was going through what is equivalent to our adolescent years). We did not know how to properly take care of him anymore, so we gave him to some people who could. We miss him, but it wasn't fair for us to keep him.

If we had a million dollars, we'd buy you a monkey.

Ok, I just saw something that I didn't expect.

The monkey and clown shown in this previous monkey post is the SAME MONKEY I have perched on my shoulder. I recognize the clown!

What are the chances of that?

14. De - 01/25/2006 6:28 am CST

The clown was very nice too, I might add.

15. Ellen - 01/25/2006 8:05 am CST

The monkey and clown shown in this previous monkey post is the SAME MONKEY I have perched on my shoulder.

Does the monkey also sing "I get around"?

;-)
