"Well, crying isn't gonna bring your dog back . . . unless your tears smell like dog food. So you can either sit there crying and eating can after can of dog food until your tears smell enough like dog food to make your dog come back or you can go out there and find your dog."

Everybody Needs A Battlecry

"Not in the face, not in the face!" I love it. There is no end to the genius of "The Tick."

You are reminding me how old I am. I absolutely loved the Tick. I'm certain that, with the making of so many superhero movies lately, the only reason they haven't done The Tick yet is that it would be too hard to capture his greatness in a movie. I mean, who could play him?

Greg,
I think Patrick Warburton did it perfectly in the TV show. Go check out this link.

Trust me.

I used to really like this cartoon - I wanted to watch the live show, but never really saw an ep.

I think my favorite part of the cartoon was:
-The names of the heroes/villains such as American Maid, and the Sea Urchin
-Some villain had inscribed part of his name on the moon early on in the series and, thereafter, half his name was always etched on the moon - it was like an inside joke that endeared the show to its viewers
-The overall witty dialogue/situational comedy that wasn't always performed well, but when you think about it, it was pretty comical.

This is one of those shows that I never really loved, but always really liked.

Oh . . . and Der Fledermouse. I really liked that one, too.

Quaid,
You are so right. Some other company acquired the rights to Kid's WB. (Disney, I think?) Anyway, when Fox did the live action show, they didn't have the rights for any of the side characters, so they came up with all new ones.

Instead of "American Maid" they had "Captain Liberty". Instead of "Die Fledermaus" they had "Batmanuel". And so on.

Anyway, you should get the live action series on DVD through netflix or blockbuster and watch it. It's AWESOME. I think the "complete series" is only on like one or two discs. (7 or 8 episodes)

It's very good. Maybe even better than the cartoon. My feeling is that it wasn't on long enough for people to "get it."

Here's the whole first episode:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Please watch it. You won't be sorry. :ggeek:

I'm a tick novice - what were his main superpowers?

Surely not . . . what ticks actually do, right?
