"Jim -- Did you catch that show last night? Pam -- No, I don't watch TV. I have a life. Jim -- Really? What's that like? Pam -- It's nice. You should get one. Jim -- But then who will watch my television? "

- the NBC sitcom "The Office"
I Have Girls

Grace, with a Table of Contents open in her lap: "Daddy, which story do you want? That one, that one, that one, or that one?"

Daddy: "That one."

Grace: "Well, but I can't read."

Daddy: "Then why did you ask me which story I wanted?"

Grace: "Well, it is fun to talk."

Macy's most melodramatic lament from this morning:
"Oh, the princess will never learn to jump rope!"

I have girls.
After the umpteenth Cinderella tea party or round of a rather poorly defined game called "Mama and Baby," I'm about ready for a croquet mallet to the face.

But I wouldn't trade them for anything. ;-)

My girls will spend the entire hour available defining the rules and actions of play, covering every possible occurance, and never actually get around to, you know, playing said game.

Makes me smile.

I love my girls.

Since De won't play, can I call you mallet-head? :-)

And I forgot to mention that my 4-soon-to-be-5 year old daughter oozes love when I refer to her as the princess...

Ahh, girls. It gives me hope. My youngest to date is a girl, the other two are boys. A thing girls know from birth and boys must learn: jumping backwards off the sofa with your eyes closed is a bad idea. Bones will break with sufficient force applied.

Rebecca, I think it depends on the girl. That jumping off the couch backwards thing sounds exactly like something Grace would do. Yesterday she tried to vault over the couch. She definitely leaps first, figures out it was a dangerous thing to do later.

Your stories about the girls always make me laugh. They are so cute!
