I Love Paul

Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift in the sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brethren; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. . . .

If I must boast, I will boast in the things that show my weakness. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying. -- from 2 Corinthians 11 (ESV)

He kind of makes me feel like a wimp.

john gerstner (r.c.sproul's mentor) calls paul "arguably the greatest christian who ever lived."
just think, some day we will meet this man from tarsus.

OK, so here are my questions.....
Since when have we graded Christians?
Or, maybe John Gerstner doesn't realize we know only the ones whom God wanted us to know for His reasons.
Was this one of those testimonies where the believer who has had nothing terrible happen in his/her life, shrugs and wonders if he shouldn't go out and get into trouble to have a "great" testimony?
Maybe I'm just old and cranky.

I've felt like I've been through some of what Paul went through! Maybe it was emotionally or physically though!
