Sports Illustrated has a rundown of some columnists' predictions of the playoff games that start today.
Here are mine:
FIRST ROUND
Bengals over Texans (even though I'll be rooting for Texans)
Steelers over Broncos (even though I'll be rooting for Broncos)
Saints over Lions
Falcons over Giants
SECOND ROUND
Ravens over Steelers (though I always root against the Ravens)
Patriots over Bengals
Saints over 49ers
Packers over Falcons (though I'd be rooting for the Falcons)
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Saints over Packers
Patriots over Ravens (in a very, very tight game)
SUPER BOWL
Saints over Patriots (though of course I'd be rooting the other way)
Obviously if the first round doesn't go the way I'm predicting this weekend, the rest is all wonky.

D'oh - updating this because I had the bracket wrong for the second round!
FIRST ROUND
Texans over Bengals (we beat them just a few weeks ago in Cincinnati, without Andre Johnson, and with the same rookie quarterback who will be playing today. This game is in Houston, in one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL. I do think it will be close and I won't be completely surprised if the Texans lose, but I think it's our game to lose. Las Vegas thinks so too)
Steelers over Broncos (I do hope Tebow plays well, but I doubt they will beat the Steelers)
Saints over Lions
Giants over Falcons (I'm going with home field advantage on this one)
SECOND ROUND
Patriots over Texans (I'll of course be rooting for the Texans, but beating the Pats in the playoffs is a bit too much to hope for)
Steelers over Ravens
Saints over 49ers
Packers over Giants
CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Saints over Packers
Steelers over Patriots (only because I already predicted a Steelers/Saints superbowl in my 2012 predictions. But I actually think the Patriots will have the edge here, with how beat-up the Steelers are. But I'm trying to stay consistent and own my predictions :-)
SUPER BOWL
Saints over Steelers (Although I think your prediction is more plausible, gotta stick with what I said originally)
I'm only looking at the first round, but on those I'd pick the Steelers over the Ravens and the Giants over the Falcons - the Giants just seem to have a knack for winning when they absolutely have to, and the Falcons don't.
I'm really looking forward to the Texans-Bengals game and the matchup of rookie QB's. I watched Yates play in the ACC and have to say I'm surprised that he has done so well. He showed flashes and even stretches of that kind of ability for sure, but he also seemed to go through some bad stretches at times and to be prone to throwing head scratching INT's at inopportune moments. Glad to see him playing so well. I see that game as kind of a tossup.
I am very excited about the nfl playoffs. It should be very exciting. As for my predictions.
Wild Card
Bengals over the Texans(even though i love the Texans more than any team other than my colts.)
Broncos over the steelers.(Tebow Time!!!!)
Saints over the lions (love drew brees against this weak lions defense that let mat Flynn throw for 6 touchdowns.)
Giants over the falcons (falcons are a year away until Mat Ryan becomes a top five quarterback in the NFL. also you can't spell elite without Eli!)
Divisional Playoffs
Pats over the Bengals. (Even though i HATE Tom Brady with a passion i think he is a great quarterback and he cant be stopped.)
Ravens over the Broncos( the magic stopped, but great run.)
Saints over the niners
Packers over the giants( Aaron Rodgers is the best Quarterback in the NFL he comes back against Eli.)
Conference Championship
Pats over the Ravens (the run continues.)
Saints over the Packers( these two QB's both had a great season and a great playoff run but drew brees wins because he has better defense and running game. also he holds the all time record for passing yards in a season. he has won a Super Bowl so he has experience the test is can he pass in Lambeau.)
Super Bowl
Pats vs. Saints
Two of the top three MVP candidates and QB's in the NFL. This game will be like many Super Bowls it will be very high flying and it will come down to turnovers and who has the ball last. Now who will win i think that the Saints will win just because they have a better defense, running game, special teams with darren sproles, and they have DREW BREES.
thanks, Blake
Yes, the Texans had their best game since Shaub went down. I think a lot of it was the home crowd and all the chaos they sowed, but also having Andre Johnson back.
I am very confused about the bracketing. The announcers at the game have been saying that the Texans are playing the Ravens next week. The bracket I saw on the nfl.com site shows us playing the Pats. Another bracket I saw had us playing the Ravens. My first comment, before I edited it, had us playing the Ravens because that's how I heard it on local radio a few days ago. So I think either the NFL playoff scheme is more complicated than I thought (hey, it's been 18 years since a Houston team made the playoffs so I'm a bit rusty) or everyone's confused :-)
I think the Texans will lose next week, no matter what. I hope I'm wrong - I want them to win but I also think that they need to mature as a playoff team and I'm not sure they are mentally prepared for a playoff run, not even considering the fact that the Ravens and Patriots are better teams. There will be a natural let down as they exult in a very solid victory here. But who knows. They played very well today (even their third string rookie quarterback). Go Texans.
Yeah, I finally snapped to that.
I think Patriots/Steelers will be a good game.
The Lions are threatening to mess up my other prediction for today, but I think the Saints are going to prevail here.
Well, Jared, one out of four ain't bad :-)
I am happily three out of four. Really happy that Tebow and the Broncos proved me wrong.

I actually think I'd agree with all of these (or at least not quibble).....I definitely agree on the Super Bowl......and I'm glad you gave my Falcons a playoff win - that's all I'm expecting and hoping for.
