Predictions

-Mitt Romney will win the Republican Nomination in 2012... but will ultimately lose to Obama.

-Wearing your pants too low will finally go out of fashion, the direct cause being the "Pants on the ground" song which the general public will start singing behind the backs of guys wear their pants that way. The harassment will just become too much, and one man will have destroyed a fashion with a little song as catchy as a commercial jingle, and decent Americans everywhere will rise up and call him a hero.

-Arnold Schwarzenegger will make another Terminator movie after he moves out of the governor's mansion...because he will be desperate for popularity.

-Joe Biden will not return for Obama's second term, citing family and personal reasons, and Hillary will insist on being VP.

Obama will kill the "From Moon to Mars" space program
, saying we need the money here on earth.

Joel Osteen will resign from public ministry because of depression. Dude's gonna burn out.

We will find Osama Bin Laden. (Because I needed to end on an optimistic note.)

I tried to make my predictions specific, and not obvious, so that if I'm right, you'll know. ;-) (In other words, I didn't write things like "Fox will start a stupid reality show" or "A politician will resign in scandal.") So what specific (and unexpected) predictions do you have?

I thought the Osteen prediction was optimistic. :)

I disagree on Romney - I don't think we'll nominate a Mormon. The closer it got to reality, the more we'd hear of salamanders talking to Joseph Smith and people wearing underwear in the shower - my prediction I guess.

I think the Joel Osteen resignation is optimistic. So ending on two optimistic predictions is always good.

Tongue in cheek-I agree with Romney...if the U.S. can elect a Nigerian-born Islamic liberal...anything is possible. Plus, the current administration has plenty of salamanders in the Cabinet.

A better prediction for Osteen would be that he has a personal epiphany and uses his extremely large influence and resources to spread the Gospel rather than self-help in 2010.

Prediction - the Colts will win the Superbowl (with my track record, I just guaranteed they won't. But I figure one of these days I'll be right).

Republicans gain seats in House and Senate but do not become a majority

The Health care bill currently in progress passes (the Democrats are too too too far invested in this to let it not pass)

I vote against every incumbent in 2010

Not enough people buy into Blu-Ray, and the entertainment industry realizes they're going to have to invent a new gimmick besides a round disc for people to want to change.

SNL gets worse. Nuff said.

The Emergent Church movement begins to take more and more college students, and its generation silently cries out for good, solid theology.

Apple wows us with more fancy gadgets, and keeps making bank accounts across America cry.

America continues to bash the Right, until they realize the Left won't do anything for them either.

So mostly, I'm a nerd...

No predictions...just a wish (hope) that your prediction regarding Obama winning another term is dead wrong...though I have no frontrunner on the other side to root for...just wish and hope whoever it is is a true small government constitutional conservative.
