"The 'what-ifs?' increase exponentially when your heart is walking around outside of your body wearing Buzz Lightyear light up shoes."

Radiance

β€œThe Lord held to this orderly plan in administering the covenant of his mercy: as the day of full revelation approached with the passing of time, the more he increased each day the brightness of its manifestation. Accordingly, at the beginning when the first promise of salvation was given to Adam [Gen. 3:15] it glowed like a feeble spark. Then, as it was added to, the light grew in fullness breaking forth increasingly and shedding its radiance more widely. At last β€” when all the clouds were dispersed β€” Christ the Sun of Righteousness fully illumined the whole earth.”

- John Calvin

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word.
-- Hebrews 1:3

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
-- Revelation 21:23

What does it mean for Jesus to be light?
"I am the Light of the world"

"In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world" (John 1:4-5, 9).

I'm thinking that in these cases it clearly means "glory".

Could it also mean revelation? Illumination means you can see and understand something you couldn't before.

Thoughts?

Good stuff, Jared. Thank you.

Jared, I don't know if you meant it but this post proves your point about idolatry and politics. It is a shame that there are only a couple of comments on this post and 50+ on the Obama posts.

Shrode, I believe it does mean revelation. That is mainly what I thought this passage to mean. The idea that light = glory, this is the first I heard of it (trying to chew on that one).

as the day of full revelation approached with the passing of time

Isn't this an amill quote though?
