"As they passed the rows of houses they saw through the open doors that men were sweeping and dusting and washing dishes, while the women sat around in groups, gossiping and laughing. "What has happened?" the Scarecrow asked a sad-looking man with a bushy beard, who wore an apron and was wheeling a baby-carriage along the sidewalk. "Why, we've had a revolution, your Majesty -- as you ought to know very well," replied the man; "and since you went away the women have been running things to suit themselves. I'm glad you have decided to come back and restore order, for doing housework and minding the children is wearing out the strength of every man in the Emerald City." "Hm!" said the Scarecrow, thoughtfully. "If it is such hard work as you say, how did the women manage it so easily?" "I really do not know," replied the man, with a deep sigh. "Perhaps the women are made of cast-iron.""

We're Starting a Study of Acts Today

. . . in our College and Young Singles class. I'm really looking forward to it.

I hope church is great for you today.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

I've been preaching through Acts on Sunday Mornings and it rocks. (The book, I mean. :) I have learned an awful lot. It's really, really cool.

Our last small group spent most of the 18 months that we were together studying Acts. I missed a lot because of my morning (all day) sickness, but we had great discussions on the nights I was able to go. I love the book - the rich history of the early Christian church.

We're teaching from Acts this year at the summer camp I work at as a counselor. It has been an amazing way to talk to kids about living as followers of Christ and evangelizing and many other things. If you were to post recaps or things that surfaced during your studies, I would be excited to read them!

Thanks Stacy - I may do that.
