We got five eggs from our chickens yesterday; that's a single day record. They're still getting used to laying, and, supposedly, when they're laying regularly we'll easily see 5 or 6 eggs a day. The weather is helping out because it's cooling off (high of 85 today!) and chickens prefer milder temperatures.
We were forced to buy some Walmart eggs the other day and, boy, there really is a huge difference in the taste. Farm fresh is so much better. We have a regular source of farm eggs (we're big egg lovers, especially me), but with the extreme heat over here all the chickens in the area have closed their orifices. They should open up here shortly with the cooler temperatures.
